We've now resolved the incident. Thanks for your patience.
While things have improved, they're still not back to 100%. We're talking with our service provider to continue improving things, but at least the app is usable now if a little sluggish.

I've scaled up our infrastructure a little and it appears to have taken the pressure off a little. Things have been running better for the past 5 to 10 minutes.
I'll continue watching and update you again shortly. We really do appreciate everyone for being so patient while we work this through.
I'm continuing to unpick the cause of the poor performance on the application, the good news is that requests are still completing, they're just running slowly. Also, status pages are completely unaffected.
