Things are now looking much more settled.
We saw a large spike in traffic starting around 17:10 UTC, which looks to be a bot or other suspicious actor, by 17:30 UTC we had identified the source of these requests and placed them on a block list, at which point the service began to run normally again.
Thanks to everyone for their understanding, as always we'll investigate this and factor it into our upcoming plans for improving our systems.
We've identified the source of the suspicious traffic and have put some blocks in place, which seem to have improved performance for the moment.
We're continuing our investigations, and will report more soon.
Sorry, everyone, we're currently seeing an unprecedented load on our services, which appears to be suspicious, and is causing some performance and availability issues, meaning that customers are struggling to log in to their accounts or access their status page.
We're actively working to mitigate these now.
