Changelog Improvement

Customers with particularly busy status pages that often have several incidents and/or maintenance open simultaneously have found the order in which notices appear on the status page to be a little inconsistent, with maintenance sometimes being treated as more important than incidents.

Today we have released some improvements to make the ordering more effective, and consistent.

Here is a breakdown of how things now behave:

Notice Previews on Multi-Page Overviews

  • Display the single highest priority open or recently closed notice for a given component, any additional notices are represented via a "+ x more" subscript.
  • Open notices always take priority over closed ones.
  • Incidents will always take priority over maintenance.
  • If there are multiple open notices of the same type, the most recently created one takes priority.
  • If there are only closed notices, the most recently closed one takes priority.

Current Notices in the Status Page Hero

  • Incidents will always take priority over maintenance.
  • If there are multiple open notices of the same type, the most recently created one takes priority.

Recent Notices in the Status Page Body

  • The most recently closed one takes priority.

We hope this makes the experience for visitors to the status page more intuitive, helping them find the most important information a little more easily.

Thanks as always for the feedback from our customers to help us shape and improve the product.
